Essential Documents
Student & Faculty Uniforms
All nursing students are required to wear the official school uniform during clinical rotations and certain on-campus activities.
Uniform Requirements
- Official RWJBarnabas Health School of Nursing scrubs
- White or black nursing shoes (closed-toe, non-slip)
- School-issued ID badge worn at all times
- Watch with second hand for taking vital signs
- Stethoscope
Information about uniform vendors and ordering will be provided during orientation. Contact the school office for current uniform requirements and approved vendors.

National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA)
The largest independent student organization in the healthcare field. Membership provides leadership development, networking opportunities, and career resources.

The DAISY Award
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding clinical performance, leadership, and compassion.
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes to honor nurses for their exceptional care. The DAISY Award for Nursing Students recognizes those who best exemplify the Academy's philosophy of Caring Science.

RN to BSN Opportunities
To encourage and support the educational mobility of our graduates, RWJBarnabas Health School of Nursing has entered into partnerships with local universities.
These partnerships allow our graduates to move seamlessly to the BSN and MSN programs offered by partner institutions. Many of our graduates have obtained their baccalaureate and master's degrees through these partnerships.
